## Development Kickoff - The Journey Begins

Today marks the official start of PopHop's development journey! After identifying the core problem of engagement drop-off in traditional communities where only owners can monetize, our founding team is now fully committed to building the solution.

**What's Happening:**

- All 6 team members (3 founders + 3 developers) are now working full-time on PopHop
- Technical architecture finalized: Next.js frontend, Python backend with FastAPI/Django, Supabase database
- Core vision established: Transform communities from audiences into self-sustaining economies where every member can monetize their expertise
- Initial feature scope defined: Community creation, membership tiers, course hosting, payment processing, and member-to-member marketplace

**The Problem We're Solving:** Traditional community platforms create unsustainable pressure on single creators to serve hundreds or thousands of members, leading to inevitable engagement drop-off. We're building the first platform that enables every community member to monetize both within their communities and to external global audiences.

**Team Commitment:**

- **Thilina (CEO):** Bringing 2 years of community building experience with 700+ members across multiple communities
- **Sandun (CTO):** Leading technical architecture and AI/ML implementation
- **Rashmi (CPO):** Driving product strategy and development leadership
- **Development Team:** 3 additional full-time developers (backend, frontend, full-stack)
